And that test done by the marine guy showed mppt did better in cool, cloudy, rainy conditions... when the sun cannot heat up the panel. And panel Isc takes a hit in such conditions. This is why my plan has been to run pwm in the summer, and mppt spring and fall. (not that I'll need every drop of solar I can get in the summer, but to prove the point that pwm can hold it's own against mppt under the right conditions).
