I should clarify that when I did the OP tests I did not measure the input voltage at the same time. I have previously measured input voltages when in 24-12 and MPPT/bulk and found it at 29ish which is close to the rated panel Vmp of 30v.
I ASSume in 24-24 the controller would still pick the panel's Vmp as the input voltage.
The MPPT controller was in Bulk (this is with the MPPT going and not in PWM) during the OP tests. the battery bank was disconnected so the only load was the bank which was 12.4v 75% SOC approx. so no additional load needed to get the controller to do high amps.
I did not run the tests long enough to raise the battery SOC. it is true that a longer test run gets you into where the battery starts choking off the amps, but that won't matter in a test to get to 30v in 24-24. The test there is to get the voltage up.
oldman has his bank in 24v so he should already have the answer to this.
