  • Get a 5-20 lb tank and the proper hose. Less hassle, and safer.
  • Do yourself a favor and keep it simple....pick up a small "pony" tank. 4.25 lb 1 gallon tank.
perfect for the camping grill. Easy to carry, easy to store, easily fallible and last a long time.
No hassle...available lots of place, Camping World, Home Depot....

  • I did the refill for a few years. Place the 20lb tank in the sun to warm up. Chill the 16oz bottle for a while. I would weigh the bottle after filling and could never get a full charge.
The reason I quite was that after refilling the same bottle a couple times, they would leak a lot while stored. I did not want any leaking bottle in my RV so I quite.
I do have 2 factory made (1980's) refillable 16oz bottles. They have the vent you open to fill. They do not leak.
  • Ok, it makes makes economic sense but I just don't want to do it for my occasional Coleman lantern use.
