Just relating a similar experience with one of my Hondas; seafoam and other treatments did nothing, even applied for long periods and high concentrations.
Took the carb apart and cleaned the jets, all was well again.
YMMV, but if the treatments don't get it done, you got nothing to lose by disassembly and cleaning the carb before buying one.
