Irish Spring works better than Ivory.
Go to the auto parts store. Pick up a can of Carb&Choke cleaner. With the red nozzle. Remove the top of the carb then remove the float an needle. Spray the inside of the carb bowl and the body of the carb. Spray the passages. Then blow it out with air.Unless it is really clogged up this will clean it out. I can send you a breakdown of the carb. If it will help.
I no longer trust Onan shops. Heard from to many people getting ripped off. Onan is not what it used to be.
Yeah, I couldn't get any local RV shops to look at it. The one that would is booked 3 months out.
As near as I can tell, all the guy did was adjust the main idle screw. He said 1 turn. And then test the cycles and such load and no load. Charged me a hair over an hour at $130 per. But you don't want to rush these things. Adjusting an idle screw is delicate work. :R
Yes. A breakdown would help. It's in a pretty tight spot. There might be but an inch or two of clearance above the carb, though maybe another inch once the air cleaner assembly is off.
So when you say "remove the top of the carb," do you mean the air cleaner assembly? Or remove more once the assembly is off?
Again, if I could get an overhead view of the thing, I'm sure I could figure that out for myself.
