The spring gets stretched then put away hot. After awhile you can't tell the difference by feel, but the thing is "off" a little.
I think I paid about $60 and was VERY glad to find a shop that would do it. Pinellas Carburetor in St Pete FL. I don't know if the still do. We have National Carburetors in Jacksonville. Called them and they said "Nope, Automotive Only."
Was having trouble with our 4KY, little tiny carb passages that I'm told make square turns inside the casting. Very hard to clean, if at all. Luckily a wonderful forum member bailed me out with one off a junker.
