1989 Onan Generator ingnition coil question

Glad to hear you got it figured out. If your going to have a gen old or new got to know how to work them a little bit.

Well, after running carb cleaner through it several times, no real change. So I took the carb off again and took the three pieces that come off, off and cleaned them. Didn't really notice much build up but after reassembly, it start up, surged twice and leveled out! Next time I went to start it, no spark. Finally check the points gap and it was way off. Set that and now it seems to run fine.
At no load, it runs around 130 volts, at load with ac and electric space heater both runing, it's around 122, does that sound okay?

I am also not sure if I have a fuel filter inline, I will check that tomorrow. Thanks for the parts book!

For now, it is still surging. I put it under a load today, small electric heater and a fan, and ran some sea foam through it. I am hoping that might help clean out the carb, if that is my problem.
Ok just checked, fuel line goes straight into the elbow, no fuel filter. I will order one.

The correct owners manual is 965-0528. If I could get a parts list and break down, that would be great.

Can you post pics of your choke. I worked on a bge the other day for a lady and had to spray some dry lube in it to free it up. Pull the tube from the carb. Make sure that small hole is open. Blow backwards through the tub through the choke to see if its stop up. I'll look though the thread for your model number and if you have the service manual. If you don't have it I'll post it.

thanks but doesn't seem to show the linkage I am looking for. I have wired the two together and it acts like it is keeping the choke open.. now for a test run to see what happens!

Thank you for the diagram. However, the choke lever must connect to a spring or something the pulls it closed. There is a hole in it and there is another component down below it that has a hole so i was thinking the two might connect and the lower would keep the choke closed until the vacuum device opened it. Not sure how it works, just a guess. I was hoping to find an exploded parts diagram of the choke assembly.
