  • definitely not for quick filling a cooler
but great for avoiding going to the store to get ice for drinks
makes ice faster than a fridge ice maker, but doesn't store it and freeze it hard
    great for parties, bars, etc..
and good for making ice too store in the freezer, more and faster than ice trays
3 hrs twice a week keeps us in ice, for ice tea, soda, punch etc..
we don't keep these items in the fridge or a cooler

IF you fill a cooler with bagged ice, you can maybe use this to keep the cooler full of ice
  • The main impediment on these is that they contain about 2 lbs of ice - mine does enough for about 3 big cups... You're not going to fill a cooler (very easily) using these.
  • good price
our first ice maker cost $90 lasted 5yrs
replaced it last yr with one that cost just over $100

    I offer one tip
the bigger and heavier the ice maker, the quicker it gets up to speed making and cycling the largest size

the new one has the same rating as the old one
    different brands
the new is smaller and a lot lighter in weight
takes longer to make the same 2 (1) gallon zip bags of ice
which is what i usually make and store in the fridge
for those that plug it in and leave it on all week end, it won't make much difference
just us dry camp folks that want to make and store ICE while the genset is running
and yes, i have run them from inverter, but i try to avoid that
uses more power than the fridge
  • Eh?
Produces up to 26 lbs. of ice in 24 hours.

I've got a similar product. It produces a lot of ice pretty quickly, but has limited storage.
