2001 Monaco dynasty amp draw

The past few weeks the generator would bog down and even cut out during normal usage. In the past there wasn't a problem with running even all three air conditioners at once. We investigated fuel issues etc. but couldn't find the problem.

Received a phone call this Am and this is what I was told by B in law. This morning while looking at the gauges on the cabinet with the coach sitting with nothing running it was drawing 10 amps. Starting turning off different circuit breakers until the voltage

draw went away, started the generator and it runs fine. Some of the breakers are still off. In the past there was a problem with loose wires on an inverter.

Any and all suggestions where to look or start appreciated.
  • Ours was recently doing this and it was a very dirty air filter. Nothing electrical, just being suffocated by the lack of air.

10A is nothing for a 7-10kw generator regardless of where its coming from. It sounds to me that the generator can't support any load at all short of the friction of the engine itself.

Are there any codes when the gen quits?

  • Well, what stopped working when the breaker that was turned off stopped the amp draw? That's where I would start.
