Assuming you have 50 amp service in the RV and have a four conductor shore power cord, the easiest method is to take the four conductor's from Dad's receptacle (you need four, not three) and install a new 4 prong receptacle.
When you move on, you can replace his welder receptacle as it was.
If you only have three conductors (wires) present on Dad's receptacle, you will need to add a wire to establish a viable neutral conductor. An alternative would be to add a two pole breaker of 50 amps into Dad's load center, pull new 6 AWG wire and establish a dedicated 240V receptacle for the 50 amp RV service. There is a great deal of merit in doing such.
If all that is too much work, use your adaptors and connect into one of the shop's 120 V receptacles.
