I understand Mex's point to study and learn and a 24/12 bucker is another piece of equipment to fail. Points well taken.
My main concern with my rig with 24V or not has nothing to do with 12V vs 24V. Rather should something fail that would require towing to a shop because it cannot be repaired on the road. And there are numerous such possibilities. But if it involved axles, drive train, etc. I'd likely need a tow. But I would not have a problem driving with various electrical failures like an alternator or bucker.
If my alternator failure were mechanical, say frozen, then it would have to be repaired before driving due to the single belt. So would a 2 belt setup be more reliable?
