Walmart says their 27DCs are deep cycle unlike their 27DPs which are dual purpose. It is hard to get good info on these things. Their answer guy says, to a question somebody asked:
"The Battery Guru--
The difference between the 27 DP and the 27DC is that the DP is designed for " Dual Purpose" both starting and cycling - it has a lower R/C but a higher MCA than the 27DC. The 27 DC has thicker plates and is a true deep cycle battery, designed to withstand constant cycling. Please see ratings below -
27DP = 800 MCA, 150 Mins R/C and 80 Ahr 27DC = 705 MCA, 175 Mins R/C and 90 Ahr 31DC = 800 MCA, 185 Mins R/C and 105 Ahr.
Thank you !"
BTW, the 27DCs I got are more like the specs for their 31DC, but are in 27 size.
I wonder if putting more AH into the same size "jar" makes it harder to get the SG up. The holes for the 6 cells are quite small in a 27 compared with the three big holes in a six volt and also the six big holes in a 12v T-1275.
