Max two hour equalize and the float it two weeks. Otherwise I think you are just torturing the plates. Actually Just charge normal and float two weeks before you do the two hour equalize. JMHO
What if you are only home a few days and then go out again? What if you are off-grid for weeks but pop into a hook-up site for one night to get your every-two-weeks full recharge and go off-grid again?
same either way.
Mex's way would get it done in one day, but he also said you can do it with more time.
Time2roll has been saying for about 10 years now that slower, lower charging rates would make for a more quality recharge, which I have been denying. I like a fast recharge with high amps.
It seems I can get away with my way with 6s and T-1275s, but not with 27s. Time2roll is right for those, as confirmed by Mex in this thread.
Mex has added to time2roll's approach that you need to go to 16 volts though, which is quite interesting. Not many RVers (most? of whom will have 27s) have a converter or charger that can do anywhere near 16 volts. Many are lucky they can even get their 14.4 and are stuck with 13.6.
The battery makers are loving it! Now it is clear how Walmart can have their kazillions of batteries sliding down off the rack and not get stuck with a bunch of them out of date before they sell. If everyone could take care of his batteries even a little, those battery makers would go broke! :(
