i think the problem boils down to the facts
the grp27 format, plate design, separators, amount of electrolyte
make for very poor RV cycling
as long as you keep using grp27 batteries, you will have this problem
Yes, wrong tool for the job. Unfortunately my MH will only fit two 6s but will carry lots of 27s for their height. I need 400AH or so in that bank.
Can't match two 6s with two 27s very well. Can't do four 6s. What to do? Answer is four 27 AGMs, but here, one 100AH AGM is $262, while one new 90AH Wet 27 is $127 at Walmart or $52 as an Econo Power at Interstate.
So 100AH is either $52 for maybe two years or $262 for maybe ten years? Comes out even by $/yr. So with no recharging hassle, grab the AGMs?
But what if you only expect to keep this RV for another three years maybe? Or if you are 75, how long to keep Rving? The AGMs will be good till you are 85. I wish there were a "people maintainer" you could plug yourself into, so you would last that long for sure! :)
Anyway, it is all situational, as to what to do. At least Mex has made it clear what is going on, so we can all decide what to do.
