Like Concorde, Rolls Battery

Many portable generators have a rotor field robbing tap marked 12 VOLTS. Rolls is saying --- Don't use it. Twenty-five years after I walked away from my pulsed waveform desulfation exercises this is the 2nd time I have read about avoiding pulsed waveform charging. The fact that the exclusions come from Lifeline and Rolls should qualify the validity of the information.
Also what is not being discusses --- at all --- is
Charge efficiency factor. Using a battery is similar to using Louie The Louse down on the corner. Borrow a C-note from Louie and see if he can be repaid by handing him a C-note.

If the CEF of a battery is 112 versus 122, over the course of a lifetime how many extra pesos are you using? It's not just the cost of a lee-trah it takes fuel, tires and wear out to go get fuel. Let's avoid attaching a number to "hassle" as hassle is an intangible.
Ooooooo a savings of fifty dollars is realized on the purchase price of a battery that sucks seventy EXTRA DOLLARS in fuel to feed and equalize. Sounds like the USA congressional budgetary mandate.
It just isn't the starting off CEF that is criminal. It is the CEF as the battery ages in the course of it's "lifetime". Again there is an intangible of time spent hassling with battery "problems".
It is harder to recharge a cheap battery. And it gets even more pronounced as a battery ages.
I'll use an innocent victim here without his permission. Landyacht and his screwy 31. His whole attitude concept would have changed radically were he forced to burn gasoline and twirl a generator to keep his battery functioning.
So the owner of a set of The Q-Club golf car batteries should talk to the owner of a set of Rolls batteries or Trojan INDUSTRIAL batteries at the end of their respective viable lives when used off grid. Is the "difference" so small as to be worth an argument? You must be joking.
Let's take a perfect example of educated idiocy...me. I knew better going in but did it anyway...
2 sets of a $66 tire versus a single hundred dollar tire. The 66 dollar tires were worn to illegal tread depth. The hundred dollar tires are 20% worn, 80% remaining. Smart huh?
When a generator needs to run 3 hours instead of two this is not rational and neither is throwing in the argument of using solar voltaics to make up the difference. Solar panels do ZERO they just reduce the net TOTAL generator run time. Gee wilikers reduce generator run time enough and the generator stays silent, improve CEF enough and fewer panels are needed or a larger bank can be fed for the same money.
Forensic battery cost evaluation is cruel and merciless. Using an eraser isn't part of the program.
In the seventies, when I used the services of a commercial uniform supply I noted they used DICKIES brand pants and shirts. It was for a reason.
Here it is 2018, FIFTEEN YEARS after I purchased seven hundred dollars worth of Dickies, pants and shirts. Guess what? They are still in good enough shape to go shopping in. Paying thirty dollars for a pair of work pants and twenty for a shirt would make some warehouse battery buyers howl in agony. So would have the price difference between my 24 Rolls battery cells, or my Lifeline batteries.
At the end of the fumes, dust, and hot air, guess who comes out on-top and not by a nose? Try a few laps.
But then eighty-eight dollar warehouse golf car batteries will send legions of boondocker's into fits of ecstasy. My Douglas tires can be heaped right in there with the worst of it...
