Hi Jim,
My Kipor 2800 watt would reliably start at -27 C. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Jim,
My Kipor 2800 watt would reliably start at -27 C. - HiTechExplorerFrom PTs other threads I am guessing he may need it in sub zero weather. I don't have any experience at all running any genset very far below 0 that I can recall.

Mine starts down in the single digits no problem (at home typically just to satisfy the monthly maintenance). The coldest weather I camp in is 20F at night and usually full hookups. We don't boondock in the winter.
I wonder how you find out which are easiest to start in cold weather? At least with a portable you can warm up inside first if all else fails to start it.

Hi,
Unfortunately built in is not an option.
good news is you are now free to buy a good gen set {Y/H} when not limited to a built in. :B - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Unfortunately built in is not an option. - mena661ExplorerI second adding a built in Onan.
- mlts22Explorer III'd guess the little starting battery is the limit in the equation, because it doesn't have much power in it, and any more than a few seconds likely would damage its flooded cells.
