If you don't camp in the cold below freezing by all means go LiFePo4. Make sure the battery management system is top of the line and is set correctly.
Last night it was -34 C here. Li don't meet my needs--but they are excellent.
SiO2 do meet my needs. They are able to charged and drawn from at -40 C , and can be discharged at 4 times the capacity (400 amps from a 100 amp-hour jar). They used to be cheaper than LiFePo4, but that is no longer necessarily the case.
