Of course you can, you just need to be aware of you're unloaded source voltage, cable length and gauge, load, and therefore total voltage drop. Here's a handy Voltage Drop Calculator that will provide the answers you need. I carry 140' of 10 gauge cable as runs to the campsite power post can be awfully long here in Ontario. No worries as long as you know what you're doing. ;)
