30 Amp RV Plug End

Wiring on a new 30 AMP plug. This is 10 gauge wire and I'm trying to find the best way to get the wire under the screw and washer. It seems too big to fit twisted in one bundle, so I split each end into 2 strands. Then I stuck each strand under each side of the screw and washer and tightened it down. Is this the way you do it?

  • It will work fine but normally the wires are stripped long enough to be wrapped around the screw in the clockwise direction.
  • Looks fine. That's not a job I enjoy.

Yours looks a lot like one I tossed in the garbage because the screws were too small. I ended up with the big yellow plug made by Camco, but I had to cut off the grab handle to fit it through the hole.
  • Looks good. That should give you a very good connection.
