Finally!
I've been thinking this the whole time and kept forgetting to make mention.
Standard temperature lapse rate is 2C or about 3.5F per thousand feet.
So it it's 90 in The Mile High City... it shouldn't be much more than 73 on a nearby, 10,000 foot peak (if there is such a thing.)
You get the idea.
How hot does it really get at 10,000 feet in the areas you're talking about? And would it not cool down quite a bit in the evenings?
