It's not a question of how often it can get hot. It has before and will do it again. There was a 10 day stretch in 2012 that we used the AC a few hours every day. There is no temperature level to hit before we use it, when Honey says push the button it's my job to make sure there is a button to be pushed.
I've decided to go with the guaranteed results of a new Champion 3500/4000. Even if a 3100i could do it, I think it will be pushed to the limits causing me to worry that the generator or air conditioning may be damaged. That's no way to spend a afternoon. Remember that there is only a 3 DB difference in the machines when under full load, not worth the risk.
Right now the 3500/4000 with electric start and remote is only $75 more than the basis unit plus wheel kit. I'll get that and spend the rest of the money on a Tailgater dish set up because there isn't any TV reception up there either.
