Ok, I checked on EP Solar to see what was going on here. Yes it is a proper MPPT. There are some weird prices on eBay. Some have the "normal" pricing and a few seem to be "dumping" them at absurdly low prices if they are to be believed.
When you put it all together with the MT50 (the older Tracer takes the MT5) it comes out similar in price (at "normal" pricing) to the Eco-W but you get that big Voc intake rating. Very nice!
It's probably the unit I will go with. Installing the controller inside the camper, and running the necessary heavy cabling to and from it, is not really a practical option for me. But running the small wire from the controller to the indoor remote would solve a lot of issues.
