How do they get 3000-3500 watts from only 5.5 horsepower? Honda and Yamaha barely get 1600-2000 watts from their 5 horse motors. Seems odd to me that a cut-rate brand would have a more efficient generator head than what the "premium" brands use?

In the right circumstances that generator should serve you well.
Just don't run it 24/7 mixed in with the tent campers etc.

Sounds like a good find, that is an impressive intertial load for any small generator to start
