4@12v = 24v
I'm installing 4 -12v AGM batteries to power a 24v inverter. This is my first choice for wiring: and my second: Any pros or cons to either one?

Yeah, that's wishful thinking. In the case of 4 batteries and a 150A 12V load or 75A 24V load, each battery will put out 37.5A, no matter which configuration.
1800w/24v=75a.
4 6v batteries in series will share the load so...
75/4 = 18.75a.
No?
