4@12v = 24v
I'm installing 4 -12v AGM batteries to power a 24v inverter. This is my first choice for wiring: and my second: Any pros or cons to either one?

The load determines how much energy is needed or provided by the battery bank.
If losses are ignored, each battery bank of the same net voltage will provide the same net energy.
Energy in joules is equal to watts times seconds, where the watts for an energy source is calculated by voltage times amperage.
So as Salvo has stated, 1800 Watts divided by 4 batteries means each battery will provide 450 watts - losses not included.
