460 watt solar setup: wire sizes?
I want to change out my old 50 watt panel and 10 amp controller with at least one and hopefully two 230 watt 24 volt panels and whatever controller would be best. Right now the roof on my fifth wheel ...

Thanks for clueing me in as to what Mex was going on about - I though he had too many cold beers and was going on about taking drugs
I am with you, go higher voltage reduce the current use smaller wire that is easier to hide out of sight (keeps the DW happy and when she is happy I am happier, when she is not happy things are NOT GOOD) and pull through hard to get at places sure there might be a small cost savings with the smaller wire but that is of very limited concern
Reality for us is that my battery bank is topped off before noon and the rest is used for other fun loads including charging the trolling batteries on the boat using the 40 amp draw plumbed on board compressed air system, etc....

I would tend to believe that Moringstar looks at our little RV market place and says they can get a better return on their investment doing others things rather than integrating a diversion load capability. They do have a solution which I use all the time called the Relay Driver it a wonderful little device that can be programmed for almost anything you can think of
