50 AMP
A friend of mine has a an outlet and also the plug for a 50 AMP, the Red and White wires are mis-crossed. What will that do to his RV if he hooks it up? ...Thank you! Moved to Tech Issues forun fro...

My brother hired a bonded electrician that said he could hook up a 30 amp for him. Unfortunately the electrician did not know that the 30 amp was supposed to be 110 VAC. The electrician had to pay to replace all the damaged equipment.
Sounds like the electrician mistakenly wired up a plug for an electric clothes dryer or a welder, which is 220 volts. You have to be careful with 30 amp - household vs RV needs can be different. 50 amp service seems to follow a more consistant standard.
