Do your research before you buy. I have a Samlex 300 watt PSW but be aware Samilex makes a cheaper 300 watt unit and a heavier duty 300 watt unit, the PST series. On the cheaper ones the fan runs all the time and are often noisy. The next step up in features and price is a thermo controlled fan like found in the Samlex PST 300 watt inverter and is about $50 more than the cheaper Samilex, but got much better reviews on Amazon and it has worked great so far.
The final step up is an inverter like Morningstar that does not use a fan at all. I think these run about $300. My Samlex 300 PST was about $160 from Bestconverter.com as I recall.
