Similar to mena, my 120 volt charging sources are defaulted to disconnected. It makes life simpler to say the least. The shore power cord is plugged into the inverter, and I operate as if the RV were connected to a land power source.
That's how I'm plugged in too, but I installed a weatherproof box/receptical under the trailer and plug the shore power cord into it. That keeps the wiring simple. I turn off the charger, microwave, etc, and just use the inverter to power the AC receptacles inside the trailer.
