The advantage of MPPT isn't at mid day when the battery voltage is high, it's early on when the battery is limiting what a PWM system will do for you. Then again with a flat mounted system, low angle really cuts down production so there isn't much advantage there.
PWM advantage when it is hot is mid day when most of our systems are in float or close to it and again, there isn't much advantage there.
To work these small advantages into a system from the start may be limiting in the long run. You really need to understand how your needs work, your situation, location and even time of travel to get anything out of tweaking the design so. Start with what fits on the roof and you may find out the choice has been made for you.
