MPPT advantage is using higher voltage.
It's effienecy is poor at low power (see any MPPT eff curve).
CT_WANDERER, check a local live data source

on the left click on 'solar calendars'
select '2015 Oct', look at either Oct 26 or 27,
note irradance on a flat panel 'global horizontal' peaked ~850 or 85% panel test spec.
600w * .85 = 510w less effiencies is the best one could get if the panels were 25C, clean ..., so ya only got 70%, could of been heat, non peak, controller limiting output ...
