I think most would agree it has already established an excellent reputation for value and reliability, not to mention the capability to power most, if not all, 13,500 & 15,000 BTU a/c units.danager wrote:i own a Red and i've been recommending this generator since it first came out. if i was in the market for a new one, this would be the one i would buy.
To quote Amazon:
Quiet - Only 58 Dba, great for campsites, Raving, cabins and more
I am not usually worried about the generator when Raving. Not too long from now all the other Ravers will be here telling you how you meet get a red or blue brand so as not to offend other Raver's sensitive ears.
though not as quiet as a Red or Blue, it's close enough to give both brands a run for the money, especially at that price point.
Yup, some pick on it because it's not as quiet as the Hondas. But, in reality it is. The Champion 3100 competes spec for spec with the $2300 Honda 3000 watt "Handi". Output, weight, fuel consumption, look/style, and sound-level specs are nearly identical. You can buy THREE Champions for the price of one Honda Handi! I suppose you could fault Champion for competing with one of Honda's less popular inverter generators, but that's about it.
And, for the record, I own two Honda EU2000i's.
