Century fuel products sells this unit converted to run propane. For a couple hundred you can by the kit and convert easy yourself.

I think most would agree it has already established an excellent reputation for value and reliability, not to mention the capability to power most, if not all, 13,500 & 15,000 BTU a/c units. Yup, some pick on it because it's not as quiet as the Hondas. But, in reality it is. The Champion 3100 competes spec for spec with the $2300 Honda 3000 watt "Handi". Output, weight, fuel consumption, look/style, and sound-level specs are nearly identical. You can buy THREE Champions for the price of one Honda Handi! I suppose you could fault Champion for competing with one of Honda's less popular inverter generators, but that's about it.And, for the record, I own two Honda EU2000i's.

yep, just got an email from Amazon, showing the $741.99 price and i checked the webpage and it's that price.
don't know how long but that's a killer price.

Just ordered my Champion 75531i inverter from Overstock.com for 676. Free shipping and no tax. Amazon was almost $800 with tax before the price went up. Now it's almost $900.

All that I could see thats different, is the remote start which adds 26lbs and the price. I think I rather have mine for 650.

how much of a difference did that supergen tent make. Was thinking of a champion 4000 remote electric start. 68 dB. If that tent works well, it may be the ticket, along with a couple of other noise reducing mods

We really wanted the 3100i but the altitude will be too much for it, so today we picked up the 3500/4000 with remote start from Cabelas for $429. It's not the upgrade we wanted but it will be nice to have the remote start. I'd be interested to see if the tent makes a difference.

The newer model will also have the ability to parallel with another 3100i if I remember correctly.
