The old analog was just a switch, On or Off. The one in your link is just a switch, but it is powered by an internal battery, so it turns on when below set point and turns off when temp reaches set point.
If it is the same as the one CTC used to carry, it doesn't display when the temp is 0 C or lower, but once it warms again it comes back on to display all the time.( an annoying little bit of troubleshooting! ) Brian
