I don't need to adjust the thermostat in the dark. :) I do turn it down some for the night and back up in the morning and off if we go out for the day.
I don't need dead on accuracy for the temp setting, but I don't want it to get wonky like the Duotherm sliders did.
I don't want/need any fan control. The furnace fan comes on and off as part of its routine with the sail switch etc. Don't need any cooling feature on the thermostat.
I just want a thermostat that will work right using the two 12v wires going into the back of it. If it has batteries too, I don't mind.
I am getting the idea the 12v doesn't matter when it is not being used to run the thermostat itself, so it can't be the "wrong" voltage. Matt explained that very well.
So, just need to get around to making a decision. Thanks for all the good info everybody.
