I agree 100% with wanting to easily disconnect/isolate the array, controller and the loads. Sure make repairs, upgrades, modifications, storage, external inputs, etc.easier
During down time aka winter my rig is in a heated barn. The solar system is completely off during storage. Not sure about your controller but mine has an internal hours meter, no need to rack up the hours. The hours meter along with the remote panel and internal micro processor have a small draw on the battery. Not a problem when plugged in but not needed.
Fuses work good
I went a different route with the Bussman MRCB switchable breakers. Worked out great for me and several customers only downside is that they are a bit expensive.
