'84 Ford class C

I'm looking for advice regarding a fuel supply problem with my 1984 class C Country Camper. I let it sit for seven years without properly prepping for storage, (my bad) and it seems the fuel pump has failed. This vehicle is a one ton Ford frame with a 460 V8 and carbeurated. I know the fuel pump is electric and in the tank. Does anyone know where I can find some electrical schematics without spending $75 on a manual? Dropping the tank is a very unappealing process because of the dual tank configuration and all that plumbing I'll probably ruin in the process. Thanks.

I went back and saw you have the dual tanks. Wish I could say "double trouble" but it's more like "Triple" because in addition to two tanks you have all that switchover stuff.
I'll send you a soft copy of the diagram if you'll fix your email. My message has other suggestions about that system.
  • Many thanks to all who posted. This gives me something to work with.
  • Does one tank only not work? If neither tank works, I would look at that inertial switch- IIRC, it's on one of the kick panels. Next, fuel pump relay.

This shows a chassis with two tanks, so if you have a single tank the troubleshooting is a lot easier.

PM me if you want it as a file, but you should be able to "save pic as..." from here.

YES. I have a diagram that I believe I put on my flickR page and can link to you here. If you'd like a soft copy emailed to you please send me a Private Message with your email ID.
  • You sure its electric? Can't help you with a diagram but try here www.ford-trucks.com you can do a forum search. One of the guys over there may have what you need.
    Good luck
