Medical devices that are purchased for me by others, guaranteed by others, and serviced by others are no-touchee.
For the most part Medical devices are a world apart in construction technique and durability. To wit the power brick is housed in plastic. Yet a similar power non medical brick weighs half as much. Got any ideas why :) ?
The blower on this critter is brushless and dual ball bearing. Got a better blower? And the software is proprietary. Adjustable pressures for inspiration and expiration are not easily duplicated. Some things in life can be upgraded. Medical devices are sacred.
