A good handheld shower head?

Current no-name 2.5 GPM head is annoyingly weak, making me use more water than I do at home. Have to keep Cold and Hot valves to more than half-open in order to feel any water action, and then even with diluting hot/cold 50/50 my 6 gal heater is empty after 6-7 minutes. In other words, I'm using total 12 gal in 6 minutes = 2 GPM.

I'm looking for something designed for 1.0-1.5 GPM, not 2.5 GPM - hopefully the flow shape will be better when used within design envelope.
With shut-off valve at the head.
With cradle holding the head at the proper angle.
With the hose feeding from the diverter down low, because this is where it is feeding now - not from the cradle.
Preferably, - without what they call "aerator" - I think it's stealing the heat.

Found this 2 GPM Oxygenics Body Spa RV, it's 2 GPM, not 1, and manuf. website mentions "aeration technology reducing water usage". Can they ever make anything right? :)

There is also 1.5 GPM High Sierra - a bit costly, price doesn't include hose and cradle.

  • Had the OEM head break and replaced it with the Oxygenics. It felt better, as more pressure or flow, while using it yet I know there was less flow due to taking longer to rinse my hair while showering.

The feel was good and that is what mattered.
  • We have Oxygenics at home and in our RV and recommend them to anyone who wants to save water but still feel like they are experiencing full flow. Search this Forum for Oxygenics and decide for yourself.
  • We have an Oxygenics in our house, and I'm not terribly impressed. I would go with any hand held that you can throttle back or turn off which, from what I've seen, is a good number of them.
  • You will hear LOTS of Oxygenics owners here. We have one and I did a test a few years ago. With full flow it filled the bucket as fast as the OEM head. But I now have it valved back to about 50% and the flow "feels" as good as the OEM with half the water.
