You also have to consider that as far as actually moving away from ICE it's very early in the game. tsla doesn't have some profound new technology that no one else can use. Golf carts have used SCR motor controls and things like regenerative braking and ramp start long ago.
I believe it wont be long until an ev is built with brush less motors as part of the wheel assembly which reduces losses to the minimum. High horsepower brush less pancake motors are not new. On top of all that dont rule out hydrogen. When hydrogen is mentioned the jokers laugh about the Hindenburg but fail to realize about 100 years ago we were walking in horse ****. Technology changes and things that couldn't be done are done. tsla is nothing special and primarily based on belief inmo. It's not like the largest corporations in the world are all stepping aside and saying oh ok we give!
