Personally, I would want one too. I would probably use it on my motorcycle more often.
There are some scary things that happen out there, when people are not paying attention to other vehicles on the road, whether motorcycles, pedestrians or bicyclists.

I will admit this. I have a -ton- of respect for motorcycle riders. They have to be the top tier drivers on the road, bar none. However, all the riders I know who commute on their bikes have some major, permanent injuries, usually a trashed knee. My pickup barely is safe enough in Austin, I'd hate to have to deal with the drunks, texters, and other hazards to life and limb on two-wheels. Of all the people out there, I wish someone would make a dash cam for motorcyclists that was HD, and would transmit footage via a LTE connection to a cloud provider if there is an impact. That way, even if the rider is not able to testify, there is evidence of at least what the vehicle was, who did the hit and run.
For these reasons, I stopped riding a motorcycle for 25 years, due to family/work responsibilities. I wish there was something that would upload to a Cloud type situation, but, with the remote riding I do internet connections is a seldom possibility. As a retired State LEO, I pay attention and drive defensively, with the fact that people do not see me. Recently I kicked a car just west of Moab, UT that pulled along side me, in my lane. Still not sure why they did that. The thing that really amazes me is the people that pass, oncoming and continue to pass with me, in my lane, so if I did not pay attention and drive onto the shoulder it would have been a head on. 30 years ago, I never saw this flagrant driving phenomenon but see it now with more regularity.
I do like the Video loop idea, but the Go Pro video still seems like the better option, for all the vibration and weather conditions. If it were always to be used in the safety and environment of vehicle's dash, a cheaper model would probably suffice.
One of my dear friend was just taken out, commuting in Los Angeles. A year ago I had talked to him about his commuting and one of the things I had warned him about was large vehicles, like semis, changing lanes and blow outs. On his Ducati he was alongside a Semi and a tire blew out and the casing took him off the bike. Lots of broken bones, pins and rehab, he is doing fine now. His wife will not allow him to own a motorcycle again. (2nd wreck due to negligence of the other driver.)
So yes, after a recent incident of someone turning left in front of me, an elk last summer and a Porcupine at the South Rim in May (did you know their quills will stick in the sidewall of a front motorcycle tire when you glance off of them? Didn't hurt him/her, as it continued to waddle across the road) I am thinking more and more about a dash cam, for the bike.

ps. I always carry a piece of paper in my front pocket on my money clip that always identifies an emergency contact, where my RV is currently boondocked (GPS/Landmark)and where the key is to get into it and rescue my dog. Something I taught as a LEO to do for people bicycling/hiking/backcountry skiing. I also have a RV.net Forum member (Thanks B.T.!) available for a family member to help/knowledge in how to get my RV back to family/safety, too. All in case I were to go belly up, somewhere on this great adventure of mine.
