I bought what is now called the " Top Dawg" Basic, with HD, about 1 year ago, at a truck stop , near I-80, in Iowa.
It works fine, has great pic quality, time date stamp, NO SPEED time , though, and I bought a Bigger Card for it, it will record about a week, week and a half, of driving everyday, before it re writes over.
Only issue, when it is , -10 below, you need to warm up the interior, before it will record..:W
Some times the controls FREEZE, I just unplug, remove battery, and start again, usually it retains time settings, but if it losses them then, I just reset them.
I have not NEEDED it yet, BUT Close many times, with IDIOT Drivers on the road.
