This wasn't intended to become a political punching bag. I've seen thousands of pointing fingers. None of which has solved a single problem.

Personal monitoring and self-control is one way to reduce emissions. How does one point out "conspicuous consumption" politely? One doesn't. Chew & Spit consumerism is an attitude that is at war with CO2 production.

How about a one billion dollar prize for inventing a process that extracts carbon from the atmosphere and total and complete tax forgiveness for industry that would build and or maintain such machinery?

The obviously irrational way of my thinking would produce an RV that would save a ton of energy while improving not degrading the standard of living for occupants. 20 degree Delta T temperature using 5,000 BTU? In a 200 sq ft area rig?

LOL, after reading through this my brain hurts also. What strikes me is the outright hypocrisy. Some are concerned about CO2 but have a huge RV and travel around burning fossil fuels which is a luxury, not a necessity. Then they rant about something they buy into which if true they are contributing to the issue. Just read the signature lines. I have a 76' plastic infused Carboniffic class A, 7 gigawatts of solar from panels produced with slave labor and no pollution controls, all feeding Topotoxic brand batteries, and a Schwansockulating generator that runs off of spent nuclear fuel pellets, along with an Acme gizmotron that allows me to run all 3 A.C. units in any situation. Oh the humanity LOL. Now.....off to ponder this thread some more.....what did I do with the Advil?

We are at 410 ppm. It was about 300 200 years ago. It has not been that high for approximately 88,000 years. What is frightening is the dramatic rate of increase.

Mex, you did not “suggest.” You said “force.”

We are being forced to pay for expensive ways to curb CO2 production. Why not make carbon fiber to replace steel? Stronger, lighter, and I would hope uses far less CO2 producing energy?
When people bend my arm to "see things their way" and then get upset when I suggest alternatives or enhancements, it makes me suspicious. Like the utter lack of interest in vastly improved insulation. Famous National Geographic picture of a worker holding a glowing orange hot Space Shuttle tile with bare hands. I am not a conspiracy theorist but nor am I stupid.
The extraction of CO2 would be much like the evolution of the five thousand dollars per watt solar voltaic panel.

It is a step in the right direction. Only a wiggle of a baby toe.
