one of my mistakes was getting a Microair
Because it didn't "play well" with either the load support on the magnum 3000 inverter charger nor my auto former. In retrospect it was, for me, a waste of money. And yes, I did ask the company if it would be a good plan.
right off the start that doesnt make sence to me, but I would have to dig deeper. all a soft start is is a different capacitor set up / replacment weather it be solid state or made with capacitors still. shouldnt have any effect on that stuff. all it does is throttle the inrush current. did tyou ever find out why it didn't work?
soft start yes microair no. the miroair starts the fan first, then cuts in the compressor. That reduces the surge, after the five "set up" starts.
For the autoformer that lowered the inrush to the point where it no longer cut in, leaving me with a lower voltage that I would prefer. I found a work around by adjusting the cut in voltage on the autoformer. Before the microair was installed (horrible directions btw), the autoformer would cut in extremely quickly in well under one second. After I had to fiddle and fart around to find a more correct setting.
The load assist on the Magnum also has some type of autoformer--and that has no user available settings to adjust it. There is a way to "force" the Magnum to work--but that caused my first Magnum to catch on fire. The only viable option is to shut the load support off.
So, for me, the microair was a waste of funds.
