I hear you on the noise but I suggest learning to accept the medium or high fan speed-whatever it takes to avoid the icing.
I have 15K BTU Dometic Penguin with the deice feature. On low fan speed this feature is activated from time to time in certain humidity conditions. Airflow never stops but is reduced a bit prior to deicing. I've learned to use medium or high fan which never trips the deice feature-ice never builds up. FWIW when deice is activated, there is a lovely small waterfall over the side of the RV.
