Not all have this feature.. but.. THEY SHOULD.
It takes at least 3 minutes for the compressor to blead down and so you get a normal start. Trying to "Hot start" the compressor (Re-start it with a full head of pressure) will cause a locked rotor, very high current and thermal overheat/overload. This is not good for the compressor.
THis is one of the two reasons when, if you have a Generator. You turn off SHORE POWER for THREE FULL MINTUES before starting the genny, and stop the Genny THREE FULL MINUTES before restoring shore power. DO NOT HOT SWITCH.
