I'm guessing the btu rating on these POS rv ACs is the gross rating. They have such small coils and fans and low cfm/ton, the evap DT is high and they do little for the sensible load. They need to be at higher cfm/ton range, like 450, so they would do more sensible cooling but that's not going to happen, as poorly as they are designed. I wish I would have borrowed a flow hood from work and check the cfm before I retired. The eer of old split systems in homes was bad and rtus were even worse but everything has gotten better except for rv ACs. I've installed several brands of mini splits and they cool great but not a one of them had an air filter that was worth a ****. The evaporator coils plug up quickly, in commercial service, and they are hard to clean. A mini split with a cassette evap and good air filter would be great in an rv and get the cond unit of the roof. Craig
