Add - Mod an On/off Freezer switch on a Dometic Fridge?

Back on the farm, as we unloaded our 26cu ft chest freezer we would fill the vacant space with newspaper and milk jugs filled with water. A space filled with solid objects hold the cold and reduces compressor running.
