UPDATE!
Hardened the propane feed area...
There is a flat steel metal support between the tire and my propane plumbing. This is where I attached an aluminum box I fabricated to protect the propane pipe in the event of a catastrophic tire failure.
Also keeps the quick connect hose and the QC nice and clean
