ADDING tension to the awning springs will NOT stop water pooling. To verify this, just get on a ladder and take your hands and attempt to roll the awning tube tighter(simulating adding tension). IF the awning does not move or get more taut, the spring tension is not a fix. The main cause of water pooling is the lack of a decent slope to help run water off. MOST slide rooms are so close to the roof, when you install the awning rail, you cannot get a slope and slight to level is the best you can do. The mount brackets(any design) will NOT help if the awning rail and the top of the slide Fascia are not lower. Attempting to install a "lower" style bracket will cause the awning fabric to rub the top on the Slide room Fascia and destroy the fabric. Now, last, ONCE you have the pooling and it stays that way for awhile, the awning fabric now stretches in the center where the pooling happens. THAT will cause a lack of tension in the center of the fabric and will require a new fabric if you don't like that oval stretched area. This is why it is important to either retract the room in rain to prevent pooling or immediately retracting after a rain to shed the pooled water. OR, build a tent type structure out of PVC pipe or beach balls to keep water from pooling. Doug
